Commonplace Restaurant was a collectively-run vegetarian restaurant, located in St. Paul, Minnesota in the 1970s. There was a lot going on there. This website is an attempt to remember some of it.

About this Site

This site came about after a glorious dinner that Liz and I enjoyed at the home of Brenda Langton and Tim Kane. We were reminiscing about Commonplace, after I showed them the photos that Jan Nelson had sent me (which are displayed here).

Brenda and Tim convinced me to make a website to show the photos, and to connect with others in the hopes of collecting and sharing more images and stories.

I suppose I could have made a facebook page to do this, but I don't really like facebook, and I make websites all day, so there ya go. That's how the site began. I hope you like it, and I hope you can send some stuff to make it better!
